Officially launched in April 2023 with 15 members, V4 is a project focusing on public administrative services for Japanese clients. Just 10 months into execution, the project’s personnel skyrocketed by 12 times, prompting Mr. Vu Anh Chien – Sub PM to exclaim, “Even though I only manage half of the team in Hanoi, I’m truly shocked and feel pressure when seeing the project’s scale.” As of now, the project development team has reached a milestone of 180 members working across 4 branches: Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and a subsidiary in Tokyo, Japan.

Being the largest-scale project GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM has ever undertaken, the project management team faced numerous challenges. The rapid increase in team size, along with multiple departments providing support, posed the biggest challenge in communication. “This is the first time we’ve handled a project with such a large team size, so neither I nor other Sub PMs have any case studies to refer to. Therefore, everyone had to make efforts to adjust gradually to ensure the smoothest project operation,” shared Mr. Nguyen Gia Hoang Vinh, Project Manager at the Ho Chi Minh City branch.

The development team also continuously strives to improve their working skills and communication with clients. Especially with clients who lack experience working with an outsourcing team, this is crucial to ensure mutual understanding and achieve the highest efficiency during project deployment.

During a meeting between GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM and the client in late October 2023, Mr. Nguyen Tan Minh – Deputy General Director of the company proudly stated, “The project is a recognition of Vietnamese intellect and creativity, as GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM has contributed to creating a widely used technology product in Japan. The trust of the client is a great motivation for GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM as a whole and the project team members in particular to continue investing in research and process improvement, enhancing project efficiency, quality, and optimizing value for customers.”

Also during the working session in Vietnam, the client expressed immense appreciation for the project team, noting that team members are increasingly cohesive, leading to significant improvements in product quality. Both GMO-Z.com RUNSYSTEM overall and the V4 Project team specifically have gained trust and confidence for their swift response to client requests and timely delivery of products as committed.

Despite being the “giant” offshore project of the entire company, not appearing on the nomination list or voting list of the G-Awards, team members were extremely surprised and thrilled to hear the project’s name announced in the final award category – the Project with the Highest Revenue in the Japanese market. This special recognition serves as a surprising token of appreciation from the company’s leadership for the relentless efforts of each member over the past nearly 1 year.

“If we liken the G-Awards to a beauty pageant and the project evaluation criteria to measuring the three dimensions, then our V4 project might be a bit ‘oversized’.”

“I personally see that there are still many areas for improvement in the project to deliver the best value to customers. But I still want to express my gratitude to the management for recognizing the efforts of all members. Especially, I would like to thank all members of the project team at the 4 branches and the subsidiary in Japan for working together to bring the project to where it is today,” said Mr. Vinh.
